The 10k Leica Project

I started "The 10k Leica Project" as a personal challenge to develop my photographic skills and to “earn” the camera of my dreams. Like many other photographers, I've always been captivated by the beauty and simplicity of Leica's offerings and I hope to - one day - refine my craft even further with a Leica camera in hand.

“Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.” ―Henri Cartier-Bresson

Inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson's famous quote I've set out to capture 10,000 (to my own standard) acceptable photographs before allowing myself to purchase a Leica Camera. Since 2020, I've been dedicated to this endeavor, and I'm excited to share some of the resulting images with you. I've even created a printed zine featuring a narrative selection of images from the first 1,000 shots. It is titled “Dream Garden” and you can find out more about it here or at the bottom of this page. Please subscribe to the newsletter below for updates and future releases, and feel free to share your own Leica story with me via email or Instagram message.

This project is not just about the destination; it's very much about embracing the entire photographic journey.

“Dream Garden” Zine

Featuring a selection from the first 1,000 images of this project, this black-and-white zine lets you dive into a short, surreal story told through snapshots from my neighborhood, which were taken throughout the course of one year.

Included with the limited, signed first edition is also a print on holographic black and white paper (frame not included). Sneak peek here. Please shoot me an email if you’d like a copy. I’m asking 15 USD + shipping or I might just trade against a copy of your own photo zine.
